Hold Me Tight – Final Journey: Alternate Ending

A/N: Because I am me, I wrote this alternate ending to make people who don’t like tragedies happy. D because I want everyone to be happy with my stories! (Well almost everyone…).

This one starts off like…five years after the start of the war. For those of you who didn’t read the tragic ending, Alexis is the youngest child. They won the war, the evil characters are dead or in exile and Traza is one of the strongest planet in the universe (along with Akea, who’s King is the same but with no more evil women, he is a great leader). I hope I don’t end up getting some of you confused… I have a talent for it.  So here we go, I hope you like this one.

P.S ( is like a chapter separator but I’m too lazy to create chapters…). And Enjoy!

Calixte, now thirty-six, stood besides her son as he congratulated one of his best friends, Alex, on finding his perfect match. The new couple had just received their mark and Brandon had held the party for them in the Palace. The brown haired woman stepped away from besides her son and walked over to her younger sons who were crowded around something.

“What you doing?” She smiled as their bodies froze at the sound of her voice.

“Hi mom… we were just…um…” Nathan, the older of the twins, smiled up at her.

“Don’t cause any trouble that’s going to involve me cleaning up the mess left behind.”

“Okay.” He smiled and hugged his mother. “We knew you would understand.”

“Yes, of course… what are you doing?” She hugged him tightly.

“We’re going to play a game with Alexis… she’s getting the stuff ready… we’re planting booby traps involving water in Brandon’s bed tonight.”

“Oh… sounds like fun.” Calixte smiled. “Don’t teach Alexis too much things alright? We need at least two sane children to keep you two under control.”

“What about Brandon? He does lot’s of pranks.”

“True… well we need at least one sane child.”

“With you as mother, no child is sane.” Christian kissed his mother’s cheek. “We’re going to get the stuff ready at the location… don’t tell him.”

“I won’t… have fun.” She smiled at waved the twins off. Sighing she collapsed down onto a chair.

            “Tiered?”

“Just a bit.” She looked up at Tristian. “How about you?”

“I’m fine.” He handed her a glass of juice. “Why don’t you go rest?”

“The hostess has to stay until the end.”

“True…” Leaning back in the chair besides her, Tristian looked around the room. “It has been five years… peace has finally come.”

“It has.” She stood up. “I think I will go rest… will you take my place?”

            “With pleasure.”

The sun set slowly as Calixte watched from the balcony of her bedroom. She smiled and turned around, leaning back against the stone railings and stared up at the night sky, catching small glimpses of flashing space ships. A soft noise from within the room brought her eyes back down. Smiling she walked slowly over to the open doors and stepped in.

            “What are you doing?”

“Mommy!” The brown haired girl smiled up at her mother. “Nate told me to get flowers to give Brandy when they apologize… and Brandy won’t let me go outside… so I came to your room.”

“Oh,” The woman picked out three flowers from a near by vase. “There you go… you apologize to Brandy as well huh?”

            “Ok.”

“You promise?” Calixte grinned and grabbed her daughter, tickling her.

“Yes!” The five year old laughed and ran away, out of the door. Calixte chased after her, grinning and with arms outstretched. She stopped when her daughter slid away underneath a pair of legs clad in black.

            “I was so close…”

“At this age? Cali, seriously.” The man tapped the girl’s head. “Go wherever you were going, I need to talk to your mother.”

“You make me sound like I’m really old.”

            “A touchy subject?”

“Whatever… you were late.” She slipped her arms through her lover’s arm as they walked back towards the bedroom.

“I was finalizing talks with the remaining planets.”

            “Finished?”

            “Of course.”

“Good, you can spend more time with me.” Calixte smiled and kissed his cheek.

“I always have time for you.” Toby smiled and slammed her against the bedroom door after closing it behind them. “How was the party?”

“Made me remember the day you finally got the courage to admit your feelings.” She grinned and slowly wrapped her arms around his neck loosely.

“Well then…” He kissed her gently. “Why was our daughter running away with flowers?”

“The twins and her are pulling another prank on Brandon… I’m guessing it’s retaliation on the last one he pulled.”

“You are not going to stop them?”

“I gave up, there’s no hope for getting our children to clam down.”

“Ah, you are getting old.” He chuckled at her expression. “Age makes you immature…woman.”

“Well you’re in love with this immature woman, so that’s your own problem, not mine.”

“It is not a problem… just an added bonus.” He tugged on her gently and pulled away. “We need to find someone suitable for Brandon soon…”

“Let him find someone in his own time… you waited.”

“We need heirs…” He slowly began to take his clothes off.

“Look how many options we have… and how many more we can create.” Calixte helped him pull his formal clothes off.

“Ah…true…” He turned around. “Will you join me for dinner tonight? Or have you eaten quite enough?”

“I’m hungry… dinner out on the balcony sounds good.” She smiled and brushed her hand down his still smooth skin.

“Whatever you please…” He kissed her nose and disappeared into the bathroom.

Calixte woke up to the sound of yelling.

“It’s the boy…leave them.” Toby looked up from his book.

            “You were still awake?”

“I could not fall asleep…” He leant down to kiss her forehead. “Go back to sleep.”

“Will you join me?” She smiled and waited as he slid down into the bed. Brandon was still yelling. “I think we should move the twins’ rooms to Brandon’s wing…”

“We will see.” Toby ran his hand down her arm. He turned off the lights with the other hand, and waited till his eyes adjusted in the dark. “Should I go tell him to shut up?”

“No…let them be… it’s healthy.” She yawned and pressed herself closer to him. He snorted in amusement and closed his eyes.

“What the hell is your problem? And why is Alexis involved?” Brandon yelled from the doorway connecting his two younger brothers’ room.

“Shut up… or you might wake Alexis up.” Christian muttered as he listened for the sounds of his father’s yelling. “And some other people I don’t feel like dealing with.”

“You think it’s funny to plant water traps in my bed?

“You put those beans or whatever under our sheets… now those were painful.” Rubbing his eyes awake he drank down a glass of water.

“Water, in my bed… now I don’t have a place to sleep.”

“You can sleep with me…” Alexis whispered as she appeared at the doorway from Nathan’s room.

“Honey, why did you join in on them?”

“They said you would be less…protection…” She looked at Christian who smiled and nodded. “Less protection to me.”

“You don’t like me being protective?”

“No…I don’t know what protection you do… but Nathan said it’s bad for my health.” She rushed up to the oldest child and hugged his legs. “I’m sorry, I didn’t know you would be so angry…” She looked up at him with tears in her eyes.

“Don’t worry… go to your room and sleep…”

“Okay…” She stuck up three flowers at him. “Sorry.”

“Thank you, now go sleep before mom or dad comes yelling.” He patted her head watched her go.

“Aww, can’t we get a pat and a sweet word of good night as well?” Nathan asked, pouting his lips.

“No…” Brandon set the flowers on a near by table. “What the hell do you mean protection is bad for her health? Do you know how many people would love to take advantage of who she is?”

“Yeah…but…” Christian made a show of rubbing his ears as he tried to interrupt his brother’s shouting.

“…You two need to grow up! Out of all of us, it just had to be you two who caused the chaos! You’re worse then mom on her weird days…”

“Grow up? What about you?” Nathan muttered as he sat down on a chair, and Christian sat in a chair besides him.

            “Are you listening to me?”

“Yes!” The two sat up straight and smiled. Brandon looked at them suspiciously.

“One of you sleep in the other’s room, I’m going to sleep in the other.”

            “What?”

“No way! He kicks!” Christian pointed at his twin.

“He punches and talks…and does stuff…”

            “He drools.”

            “He snores.”

            “He…”

“Shut up!” Brandon shook his head. “Fine, one of you go to mom and dad’s room and ask if you can sleep in there.”

“What? No!” Nathan stood up. “Do you know what they do in that bed?”

“Where do you think you two idiots were made?” The twenty one year old sighed.

            “In the garden…”

“No, mom said it was the desert…”

            “No she said garden…”

“Ok, stop… shut up I’ll get Alexis to sleep with them.”

“Ah, yes… the best option.” Christian smiled and rushed to his bed.

            “The best…”

“You two are coming with me.”

            “Why?”

“To explain why the hell we’re disturbing them…”

“NO! We might see them at it! Then dad would kill us… oh…no… he would torture us…”

“He isn’t that bad.” Brandon muttered as he went to wake his sister up.

“What the hell are you doing at this time of night?”  Toby stared at his children, lined up at the foot of his bed.

“Well…these guys put water in my bed…”

            “What?”

“Water… I pulled down the sheets and water fell on me…”

“Another prank?” Toby crossed his arms.

“Well technically, father, it was retaliation…” Christian started but stopped.

“So…what are you guys doing here?” Calixte asked, stretching her arms and winked at the twins.

“Well… since we’re one short of a bed in the near vicinity, we were wondering if Alexis could share a bed with you tonight and…”

“Why don’t you just make the boys sleep in the wet bed?” Toby muttered, rolling his eyes and leaning against the head board. The two pairs of eyes widened.

“No! That would be sick, dad please no…anything but…”

“Why don’t we just sleep together tonight?” Calixte suggested smiling.

            “What!” The males yelled.

“Yay!” Alexis jumped out of Brandon’s arms and rushed towards her mother.

            “She agrees.”

            “I’m twenty one…”

            “I’m fifteen.”

            “Me too.”

“Whatever, decide what you want to do, I’m not up to thinking.” Calixte slid under the covers with her daughter and the two immediately fell asleep.

“It’s over…” Toby stared out of the window of the control deck. “Their colonies have been destroyed, and the Queen of Akea is presumed dead… or is somewhere with her counterpart.”

“So… no more…fighting?” Calixte asked, walking up behind him.

“No, no more.” He smiled and turned. “That’s what you want.”

“Obviously, but more then that I don’t want you to die.” She wrapped her arm around his waist.

“Death… it is a sweet escape for some.” Toby turned and brushed his hands across her face. Her hands gently ran over his mid-torso, caressing the still sensitive scars.

“Well it better not be for you.”

“It is not… I love you.” He leant forward and captured her lips with his, squeezing the now swollen belly containing their child.

Calixte glanced away from the window of the ship. Her family was in the room behind her. Brandon was reading a book, Nathan and Christian were playing some sort of game and Alexis and Tristian were doing something involving paper, flowers and an ice cream. She smiled and glanced at Toby who was staring out of the window as they moved closer to a spiral galaxy.

“You know… the last time I was there they had enough technology to sense on coming asteroids.” She whispered, moving closer to her lover.

“Our technology is far more advanced… you know that.”

“Just in case a new genius was born.” She shrugged and kissed his cheek. He only smirked and pinched her cheek.

“Trust me; they won’t know we’re coming.”

I trusted him. But I couldn’t trust myself for being calm enough… or to be logical enough if I happened upon a grave with no body. But it was his idea to take us all on a ‘family trip’ back to my past home…Earth… I was excited at first, of course, but as the solar system I had studied in my youth drew closer, my excitement turned to doubt. What if they don’t remember me? What will they say? Will they even believe me? My past friends…and my past family… I was just about ready to march into the control room and order the guys to turn back home. Then she came into view… beautiful mother earth. I recognized the continents and their names, but the names of cities were tucked away in a dark corner I couldn’t see. He probably sensed my discomfort. He placed an arm around my shoulder and kissed my head. He…my husband…and my King. Toby… after his near death experience at the beginning of the war between Traza and Akea/Aemi forces, he had opened up some more, more physically affectionate and showed more thought towards our children. But there was always that old Toby, the Toby I fell in love with so many years ago…insulting, prideful, quick to anger…and the man who loved his dignity. I smiled at him and pressed myself closer to him, the almost familiar planet moving closer. Would my parents believe that I was a Queen…not a Princess… but a Queen? Would they believe that somehow, in a cruel twist of fate, I ended up being thrown far away from home to be the one I’ve always wanted to be ever since I was four? Who knew…? The Planet seemed to be covered in more silver then I remembered… less green… how long have I been gone from home? Nearly twenty two years… Maybe my parents would be happy to have four beautiful grandchildren… A daughter back from the grave… I hope they still have their crooked sense of humor, and then they’ll believe me. They’ll believe that there are such things as aliens… and that I am Queen of one of the races. That I really am truly in love with one of them.

Calixte grabbed onto Toby as the ship vibrated as it fell in through the atmosphere. He held onto her shaking body and stroked her hair, watching as they landed in gray mountains. Alexis rushed over and plastered face and hands to the window staring out, Christian and Nathan stood behind her and looked out as well. While Brandon and Tristian watched Calixte being gently comforted in the corned by Toby.

In the midst of fear,

Will you hold me and wipe my tears away?

While I doubt who I am,

Can you be there to hold on tight?

When everything turns out to be just perfectly fine,

Don’t say ‘I told you so’,

But just kiss me and still be there.

And when everything is finished,

Still stand by me,

Hold my hand,

Hold me close…

And Hold Me Tight.

A/N: Not a complete story, but I’ll leave the ending up to your imagination. I hope this was good enough… and I hope you enjoyed it. Thank you for reading.
