Welcome to Dreamland

Where reality is a dream

And dreams are

?Reality

Where silver scales of a sea monster

Line the clouds of red above

And the eye of the monster alternates

From the never-setting sun

To the calm center of the storm

Where blades of grass are sharp

Enough to slit a throat- and tall

Enough to align with the skyscrapers

Which actually scrape the sky

Where the people crawl on the ground

Down on their knees- begging “Please-

Don’t let me drown in the pool

A hundred and eighty feet deep

And a mile wide on every side!”

And yet they are in the middle of a desert

Where trapdoors are hidden for the unsuspecting

Dropping into a second world- this one

For the little people with their matchboxes

And they hate the big people

So they tie them to their matchboxes so to

“GET LITTLE!”

Where the giants chase you

Eat the ones around you like

Candy- sweet and sugary and always wanting

More to satisfy their insatiable hunger

But just like candy, there is a sour aftertaste

And they don’t like you anymore

Where there is always a little bit of

Faint music in the background

A melody that says that there is a road that can take you home

And everything is going

To be alright

You just have to wake up

Welcome to Dreamland

Enjoy your good night’s unrest
