I lay here in a lonely bed

longing for your touch

With wistful thoughts and misty eyes

I miss you very much

I'm so tired but cannot sleep

my chest feels heavy and tight

It's nights like this I feel the distance

between yourself and I

I sit here, pen in my hand

the paper holds a lonely tear

My only need, to hear your voice

and have you lying here

These words express my angst

emotions rough and raw

A mixture of love and sadness

I give to you my all

I look outside my window

there's not a star in the sky

The cloudy night, I turn away

I do not want to cry

My love, I share this with you

you're wise enough to see

For good, for bad, for always

it's all a part of me

Until the day we never part

I think of the love in your eyes

Though gone again, you will return

there are no permanent goodbyes
