The Sea of Enchantresses and Sorcerors

By Abby, Age 13

Rating: Um, I'm gonna say PG-13.

Notes: WARNING: This is a story that I wrote in 7th grade. I am posting it now for the public to read for the first time ever. Don't give me feedback that says that I am writing in a very immature manner, because I wrote this almost SEVEN years ago. I am posting it for your entertainment, since the
story is rather off the wall. Enjoy!

Intro

Deep down in the ocean, which here we call Anomia, there existed 3 kingdoms. One, the most powerful of all, and the most beautiful, was Oceania. It was a strong kingdom with a grand army of mermen. The ruler of this kingdom was Oceana, the gracious and beautious mer-queen. Oceana at one point in her young life acquired immortality by use of the Pearl of Anomia, which will be talked about later in this story. Since her kingdom was about where the long extinct kingdom of enchantresses once dwelled, Oceana's kingdom was full of magic. Of course, to preserve the old ways of the enchantresses, magic was used by the highest nobles and by the royal blood. Oceana was a powerful enchantress, in fact the most powerful in the land. Although she could destroy anything she wish to be destroyed, she always used her powers for good, which was, let's say, good.

On with the story. Oceana had 5 sisters. Their names were Aquianis, Artica, Pacificana, Atlanticina, and Indiaana. All of them used magic as well, although they were not as powerful as Oceana. Aquianis was the leader of the 5 sisters. She had wonderfully long black hair, but that has no matter in the stories to come. The other 4 sisters were named after oceans that still exist outside their world. In fact, that world is ours. The sisters all possessed a wand which could, when the user uttered a certain spell, seduce and read thought. They never used these powers much though, and only used them in a time of need. Later in this tory there may be more to speak of Oceania, but you must be patient while I tell you of other kingdoms.

The second kingdom in the ocean of Anomia was the kingdom of Scarth. It was a land of deceitfulness and very little good. It was ruled by an evil merman, the King of Scarth. His army and his subjects consisted of human. They had been stolen from the land of walkers many years ago by the king himself, and they were put under an eternal, unbreakable spell which enabled them to breathe underwater. The humans in the land of walkers called the time when thousands of people vanished the time of disappearance. After this time the king took no more subjects from the land of walkers. The King of Scarth, being very greedy, produced a law (under a spell) that no humans in his kingdom may mate with each other. Instead, the king set aside one month each year for all the women of the kingdom, young and old, to come to his lair and live in a special room adjacent to his. During this time the king mated with all the women until they had all conceived a child. If all the women had not conceived by the end of the month, the process would start all over and the time would be extended until all had conceived. I would like to note that if you think of me sick in the mind about now, please don't. This will explain a lot in the next stories. I will leave this to your imagination. The King of Scarth and Oceana never conversed except for on diplomatic reasons. They both tried to stay out of each other's path as often as possible, which is might as well because evil things happen when they are in contact. That is about all I would like to say about the king himself. The land of Scarth, however, was founded on the long-extinct land of sorcerors. And the king used magic, of course. If you are wondering, the land of enchantresses and the land of sorcerors both were destroyed in their final battle. They of course hated each other.

The last land, the darkest of them all, was the Caves of Doom. It was quite a place to talk about. It was a land of outcasts, and it had no ruler. But there was a mer-woman whom everyone respected. In a minute we will mention her. The land had a sort of magic feeling and property to it, because the most magical thing in the entire ocean could be found there. The Pearl of Anomia. The Pearl of Anomia ruled the entire ocean, controlled the magic, and to those who touched it it gave magical and astonishing powers. If evil touched it, if they touched it sheerly to steal it, for all evil wanted to do was steal it, they were destroyed by the pearl itself.

Now to speak of the respected merwoman. She was an evil enchantress. She was devastatingly beautiful with wavy black hair and almond shaped eyes with purple irises. No man could resist her. Long ago she was banned from the kingdom of Oceania by the queen Oceana. She was Oceana's right-hand merwoman then. Her name was Malana. When Malana strengthened her powers and tried to take over the throne, she was banned because of it. You would ban her too if she tried to take over your throne. Anyway she took the Jellyfish of Scag with her. The Jellyfish of Scag was created by Oceana long before to protect the bays from humans trying to enter the mer- kingdom. Malana entered the Caves of Doom and set up her home in the main cave, a cave with many dark crevases and unknowns. There Malana practices her magic and plans to take over the Caves of Doom. But let me tell you she never tried to. She created magic sponges which could detatch from their rocks and perform simple tasks, but they never did much good. I guess sponges were never meant to detatch from their rocks. Also Malana adopted and raised an apprentice named Arthicia, who she trained in her evil magic. She never did become a true enchantress, for Malana feared that Arthicia's powers would overpower hers. Quite a few adventures happen with her.

Now you have become familiar with all the kingdoms and all who dwell in the Ocean of Anomia. It is a interesting place full of mermaids and magic. These are the stories of the darkest days of Anomia.
