Miki dreams of finding her love, but in America? Could it happen? Maybe. Here's her story. (3rd person's point of view)

A whole new life

Chapter I

Miki started walking behind the casket. Wearing a plain black dress, heels, and a veil, you would think she was an adult, but in fact, she was only 16. And she had just lost her best friend, her mother. If you knew them, you could say they were sister. The only thing was that Miki looked a lot American. That's because her father came to Japan during his spring brake and met her mother. They fell in love, and the night he had to leave, Miki was made. Miki's mother chose to keep his last name so she named her baby Miki Kohana Jones.

"We will always remember Mimi Jones as a loving mother, a great teacher, and a wonderful friend. She will never be forgotten as long as she is in our heart. Even though she left all of us wondering why, God had his plan with her. Even though she will be missed, God will keep us all together one day."

Miki left the church. She just ran. Step after step. She ran all the way home.

'I might as well pack' she though as a tear fell down her face.

'Why didn't she get help? Why did she leave me?' Miki slammed her trunk down on the floor. Walking towards her dresser and took her socks out and threw them in. Next her shirts and pants. Next she did her other supplies, like make up, pictures, and this and that's. There. All the clothes were packed. Everything was done. All she had to do is leave later that day.

She went to her bed, which was bare. Then all of the sudden, her phone rang. Picking her self up, Miki answered it.

"Yeah?"

"Miki, you ok?" her Aunt asked.

"N-no. I miss her so much aunt Rikeo." Miki then broke down and cried. They talked about her new life in the States, her father, and how much they would miss each other.

"I-I got to go. I love you." Miki said.

"I love you to. If you need me, call. No matter what!" her aunt told her.

"Ok, bye."

And they hung up. Miki then fell asleep crying on her bed.

The only thing she hadn't packed was her mother's picture. Her mother was full Japanese and was very petite and looked happy. But she died and would never smile again. Miki missed her so much. And always would.

"Flight 112 is now boarding. If this is your fight, please start boarding." The woman behind the desk said on the loud speaker.

Miki stood up and followed the crowed of people to her plane. Sighing, she fell right into her seat and tried to fall asleep again. Another tear rolled down her cheek, she wiped it, turned and faced her window. She shivered fell into a deep sleep. The couple next to her started whispering.

"Poor child. She looks lonely." The older woman said.

"Just let her be." Her husband told her and they didn't talk to Miki or wake her up for hours.

Later, the fight attendant shook Miki up. She had a happy look like she has just put it on to wake her up. Miki blinked and yawned.

"Come on honey, the plane landed."

"Thank you." She said and left.

Stepping off the plane, Miki then hear voices shouting for her.

"MIKI! Over here!" a man in his later 30's called. Miki blushed at the attention and walked to the small group.

"Miki, I've missed you so much." The man said.

"I'm your 'brother' as you might say." Another man said. He was Hispanic with dark colored hair. Brown eyes, loped sided grin, and what looked like a surfer's outfit. Smiling, he pulled his hand out to Miki as she did the same.

"I'm Mark."

"Miki."

"If I may ask, how are you my brother?" Miki asked and then blushed.

"Your dad is my godfather. My parents died last summer."

"Oh, I'm very sorry." And then Miki's father grabbed her into a huge hug.

"I missed you so much little one." R.J. Jones said.

"I've missed you too." Miki returned the hug and whispered "And I miss mom."

R.J. just hugged her harder.

"Come on peeps, let's go!" Mark shouted and they all headed to the car.

The car turned out to be a jeep in a light blue color. Looking around, Miki knew she would kind of fit in.

Miki was 5'6, weigh 135 pounds, and was wearing a black tank top, and white jeans that flared. She had ebony black hair and what she thought was her favorite thing, she has green eyes. Thanks to her dad.

After putting her purse on her lap, Mark started the jeep. Then it stopped.

"Oops, sorry." Mark said and then it started again.

Miki whispered, "Welcome to my new home." And closed her eyes.
