-- Title -- Introduction
///~~~~~~~~~
Dimming lights and fading sunlight. Darkening by night and becoming one with darkness.
An old shop keeper stood outside of his shop, sweeping his steps and glanced over to the right. A figure had suddenly appeared as if out of the darkness and stood quietly near the steps. The older man scanned the figure in black over and turned away for a moment. "You're back, lost puppy," the older man said and looked to his left.
The figure was at his left now, right beside him on the top step and stood without even moving a muscle. The older man sighed and moved a straggling piece of his white hair from his eyes. "What brings you back to my shop? Looking for more flesh or just meandering around aimlessly?"
"Tell me, old man Reaves, what will your wife think to see you dead with your internal organs strewn about around your bed chamber?" The figure asked with a young, deep male voice that rippled.
Reaves smirked. "You can't kill me anyways, Lex."
Lazer blue eyes appeared beneath the hood which hid the figure's face and it suddenly fell back slowly, revealing short silver hair. Two strands, seeming to be his sideburns, were long enough to settle on his shoulders and his face looked angelic. Save for the paleness of his skin and intensity of his eyes. He bared his teeth to reveal two defined vampirish fangs in his mouth and his lazer blue eyes glowed. "You know my name, how?" He asked.
Reaves stopped sweeping and turned to Lex. "I know much more than I lead people to think. Besides, you look like a Lex anyways," the old man chuckled.
Lex frowned and gazed up towards the darkened skies. "Do you know what I am then?" He asked quietly, his voice drumming in his well defined chest.
"No, that I cannot answer."
"No one seems to have the answers. Not even the vampyre clan, nor any other demonic being. Who am I really? Where do I belong? Those are the questions I ask myself every single morning. The answer is the same...just the wind whistling it's hell cry at me."
Reaves glanced over at the young man and rested on his broom stick. "Dark child of the night, you are lost in your own world right now and I don't think a human like me can help you."
A wind, slow and gentle, shifted through the streets. Leaves spiraled along the road and past the steps of Reaves shop. Lex closed his eyes and brought his hands up to his hood. "I must make my leave now," Lex said and turned to the old man, his lazer blue eyes flashing," I must find out who I am. What I am and where I came from. I am but an enigma in the world of demons."
His image faded and Reaves smiled faintly. "That poor young man...fleeing his own destiny," he murmered before turning to the door.
A sound came from behind him and Reaves turned around. His eyes widened and he had little time to react until a blade slashed through his throat. Throwing him against the door and blood spraying across the area around him.

Mountains surrounded a wide rang of forest and nothing could live there but darkness itself. Sitting in an upright position next to a weeping willow, a young woman picked at her long nails and held a bored look on her flawless face. Her body was young, but not childish and it held a seductive aura with the way she was barely clothed. Her hair was long, reaching the middle of her back, and a deep red. She looked up and her eyes flashed emerald green, but a green that was neonish. The young woman stopped examining her nails and stood up from her sitting position. A figure appeared only a few feet away and pushed back his hood. Lex stood with an expressionless facade and brushed his right hand through his hair. "Waiting for me long, Selen?" He asked as he glanced over at the young woman.
"Only a few centuries, but I guess it was worth the wait," the young woman replied with a quick smirk, revealing identical fangs like Lex's.
Selen raised her hands up and placed them behind her head. "Where were you?"
"Looking for answers, it's not important."
Lex removed his cloak and revealed black clothing. His shirt was a tunic, beneath that was a long sleeved shirt and his jeans were baggy on his hips. His boots came up to the middle of his shin and were black. Selen walked over and took his coat from him, touching his hand in the process. The two looked at each other and Selen smiled when Lex withdrew his hand quickly. Lex turned and sighed loudly. "Been a long time since I've been here, but I have a mission to complete and I can't be stopping any time soon," he said.
Selen walked over and snaked her arms around his waist, resting her head against his back. Lex looked down at her slender arms and closed his eyes. "Lex, it's been a century since I've last seen you and before you left you had said you have a mission to fullfill. Now you are still on that exact same mission, why can't you just stop it and stay home?" She said quietly into his back.
"Selen, I have to-"
"Don't say you have to!" Selen cried, tears falling from her cheeks." Don't say you have to leave and find out who you are. What you are. You are Lex and you're my everything!"
Lex frowned and closed his eyes. "Why must you keep me here, Selen? This orchard of trees and mountains offers nothing to me."
"I'm here...isn't that enough? Or have you forgotten about us when you were on your mission?"
She pulled away from Lex and he turned around, grabbing her shoulders. "That's not it, Selen. I just need some more time to find out who I am."
Selen looked up into his eyes and her own emerald eyes were lighter. "A vampyre cannot help you with that, for we can't even know our real selves," she murmered, pulling away.
Lex shook his head and walked over to his coat. "If you want to come with me, this is the opportunity. Though if you want to be difficult, just stay here for another century and see if I come back!" He snapped and vanished.
Selen stood quietly and suddenly a smile appeared on her lips. A sinister smile and a man appeared. "So, do you know what's going on?" The man asked, his crimson red eyes glowing.
Selen held a fragment of Lex's clothes and turned to the man. "He's trying to find his true self. If he does, then our cause will go to Hell and we don't need that," she replied, handing the fragment over to the man.
"Good work, Selen. By the way, wearing that while you're on the job could get you mistaken for a human whore."
The man vanished and Selen frowned. "Fuck you," she growled and vanished also.

To be continued...
Yes, short...but, maybe confusing. More backround on Lex coming in the next few chapters. Hope you liked.
