She walked cheerfully to class the sixth day, humming to herself and skipping on every fifth step, only to be met by a large sign which stated:
There is no class with Kharrigan today. Class will resume in two days times. Thank you.
"What?! Why don't they ever TELL me these things?!" Kharrigan screeched, grabbing the nearest kid and half strangling him. "I mean, it's not like it'd be good if I knew or anything! Ooooooh no! They absolutely have to keep me in the dark until the last possible moments so that I can scream my rage into the sky and make sarcastic comments and.. Oh. Sorry. Didn't notice you there." Kharrigan let go of the child, patting him on the back, informing him that his breath would eventually come back to him, just give it time.
She then turned back to the sign, pursing her lips. Nobody had told her that she wasn't going to have lessons today! And because of that, she had to get up extra early- earlier than she normally would, and dress nicely, and not use any magic!
Feeling exceedingly cheated, Kharrigan stomped away, and slouched down next to the nearest wall, crossing her arms. "Awww, this whomps!" She snapped, banging the back of her head against the wall. "Stupid." Bang. "STUPID!" bang. "PEOPLE! They can't even," bang, "tell me about," bang, bang, bang, "REALLY IMPORTANT STUFF!"
She jumped to her feet and screamed, scaring off everyone in the thirty-foot radius.
"Hey, Kharrigan!"
She turned, still screaming, and eyed the four people in front of her. They were her subjects, Helium Otter Boy (she still couldn't remember his name) Anti-Famine Guy (couldn't remember his name either), Sanria (the mature eleven year old) and Daenra, the pretty, thin, elfish type.
She closed her mouth, continuing to eye them. "I told you to call me Kharri," she muttered, frowning.
"Yes, but we prefer to call you by your full name-" Sanria insisted before she was rudely cut off by Kharrigan.
"Feh! You fools!" the Mage boomed, amplifying her voice. "LEAVE KHARRIGAN ALOOOOOOONE!"
She made to run away, but Helium Otter Boy grabbed her arm. "Not so fast! Why don't we have lessons today?"
"I dunno."
"You're the teacher, smarts. Come on, tell us." He said, frowning.
"To tell you the truth," Kharrigan swiveled on her heels, glaring meaningfully at the four of them, "I have no clue either! The stupid people in charge of this don't tell me ANYTHING!"
"Whoa! Calm down, girl!" Anti-Famine guy took her other wrist. "It's ok. Take in a deep breath."
"NO! I WILL NOT BE CURRUPTED!" Kharrigan screamed, breaking free from their grasps and collapsing onto the ground, beating it with her fists, sobbing angrily. "WHY DON'T THEY TELL ME THINGS?!?!?! WHY? WHY?"
"Kharrigan," Sanria and Daenra knelt down beside her, one patting her back and the other offering her a tissue, "It's really not that bad! It's only two days off!"
"I don't even know what I'm supposed to do each day until I read the letter they sent me! THEY HAAAAAATE ME!" Kharrigan sobbed, accepting the tissue and blowing her nose violently.
"Really, Kharrigan! Grow up!" Some else said.
"But I'm only sixtee-ee-eennn.." Kharrigan found that she was still crying into the grass, and that it was becoming uncomfortable.
"I'm sixteen," Helium Otter added, as if that proved something.
Of course, it didn't, and Kharrigan pushed herself up, wiping away tears that were still streaming down her face. "You people are so cruel!" She wailed, covering her face with her hands.
"There, there, Kharrigan, you're being overly dramatic." Daenra handed Kharrigan another tissue, and said, "It really can't be this bad, can it?"
The Mage sniffled. "It is. THEY ALWAYS DO THIS!" Her eyebrows snapped together, and she growled, "I am going to KILL him!"
"Who?" The four asked in unison.
Kharrigan chuckled darkly. "Duke Ethan."
"Do you have something against him?" Helium Otter wondered, eyeing her suspiciously.
"YES." Kharrigan boomed, glaring at the four other people. "He's the little ring leader."
"The ring leader of WHAT?" Sanria asked, almost desperately.
"The conspiracy against me!" Kharrigan gasped, as If that was obvious. (NOTE: there's a conspiracy against ME too. only I'm not as lucky as Kharrigan, and I only THINK that my sister is behind it.)
"There's a conspiracy against you?" A voice asked from behind them.
"YOU!" Kharrigan leaped at the speaker- who happened to be Duke Ethan- but was successfully stopped by Helium Otter and Anti-Famine. "Leggo!" She snarled, trying to hurl herself at the shocked duke. "Lemme at him!"
"What have I done, O pearl of my heart?" Ethan asked innocently, stepping back a few paces.
Kharrigan slumped again to the ground, moaning. "What have I done to deserve this? Even Ugly Old Ethan's being nice to me."
"Am I really that old?" Ethan wondered over the noise that Kharrigan was making.
"Shhh! You're making it worse!" Sanria snapped, frowning at the duke. "Can't you see she's over stressed?"
"OVER STRESSED!" Kharrigan jumped to her feet and screamed. "TRYING TO CORRUPT ME, AGAIN, AREN'T YOU???" she shrieked, running off before anyone could stop her.
"Well." Daenra stood up, dusting off her clean robes. "That was interesting. Strange person, isn't she?"
"I think she's funny," Anti-Famine guy said self consciously.
"She is amusing," Sanria agreed, smiling.
Kharrigan meanwhile, hid under a bush, quietly fuming.
