Reality. What is it? The answer is a mystery to human kind. Many think they know, but they are wrong. Very wrong. The line between reality and imagination is very thin, sometimes almost nonexistent. It is a rare occurence, but that line can be breached. When that happens, and nothing is done immediately to seal the vortex, all may be lost. May all of its victims be pitied, as they are inevitably doomed.
Mary Jones and her older sister, Meg, walked into their lifelong home dressed in black clothing. Mary said quietly, "It seems so empty here, The silence is creepy."
Meg sighed, "Let's go to bed. We can sort out Mom's and Dad's thing between us in the morning."
Mary walked down the dark hallway into her room and got into her night. After she took her hair down and put her glasses away, she got under the covers. Mary mumbled to her cat, "I wish I could just turn back time and prevent that damn drunk driver from killing them. I want to make all the sad things in the world go away so everyone could be happy, and no one would die. I wish..." and she was asleep.
The large room had old medieval-style furniture and was dimly lit by torches. The only familiar thing was the old worn couch from her living room with Meg sitting on it. Mary's vision was blurry, and she couldn't focus it, no matter how hard she tried.
The phone gave one shrill ring. Meg picked it up and said coldly, "Mom, what the hell do you want?"
Mary cried, "It's Mom? *Please* Meg! *Please* let me talk to her! Oh please, please, please, please..." her voice faltered into rambling sobs.
But her sister had already hung up and disappeared. Her pleas now only illogical nonsense, Mary picked up the phone, "Hello? Hello?" She dialed random numbers, and miraculously, a familiar voice was on the line. Mary cried, "How could you? What's wrong with you? Why-"
The line went dead, and she said to herself, "Well, at least it can't get any worse."
Mary looked up. She tried to run, in panic of what she saw. She found she couldn't move the slightest bit so she barred herself as the hairy spiders crawled all over her. Waving them off her only brought on more. She sobbed in fear, and tried not to think of how much she hated the experience because just the thought seemed to urge them on even more.
Suddenly Mary, still in pain from the spider bites (which were somehow rapidly disappearing), was standing in a large room with a huge staircase along one wall. It seemed to be a cafeteria that looked much like a hotel lobby. She realized it was a twisted version of her old elementary school filled with long-forgotten friends.
"Mary! Listen to me! I don't have much time. Even though you're dreaming, this is cruicial. You have to search, to find out before it's too late!" came an urgent whisper from a girl behind her.
"What? Who-" she whirled around, but no one was there.

Well, that's what I've got so far. This type of storyline is very hard for me to separate into chapters so I'm going to just post the latest sections as I write them. I take a long time to update because I am usually busy with school and lazy, but I will get to putting up the next part eventually. Don't forget to review! The more reviews I get, the faster I'm able to update! ^_^
