Alone in the corner sat.

Desperately she's yearning ,

For what everyone else is learning.

Fearful they'd find her too odd.

She so resents their stubborn blindness,

As much as she fears their awkward kindness.

A bright personality never seen,

There's nothing so wasted.

A wonderful passion and future,

Tragic to be so barely tasted.

She fears to fail and fears to fly,

Yet she always says she makes herself try.

But it's not good enough

It won't be, it can't be!

'Cause still that yellow hat,

Is all that she lets them see.

Why can't she let herself be free?

She must scream into the night.

Because they musn't see,
