I was challenged in my creative writing group to write a happy poem. Boo. I discovered the rhyme scheme for an Italian sonnet. Yay. This poem annoys me slightly after the first stanza. Boo. It isn't really happy after all since there's a one-sided love thing going on. Yay. I'm having an easier time thinking of more "yays" then "boos." Boo. Make me happy by reading and reviewing. Yay!

In the meadow by the oak tree,
I look at you and what I want to do
Comes to me like it's something new
So won't you walk with me?

I'm at your level, down on my knee,
Outwardly asking you to come along,
And maybe sing your little song
But you just won't stop and see.

I only want to hold you close
And call you nothing but my own,
But that, you'll never know.

You fill me up, dose by dose
Because I never want to be alone
And that's something I can't show.
