Seeing the world in shades of gray,
Whispers of the winds against the lifeless tree
Never more than such of a dreary day,
Where life takes away the ambiance of free.
The rain washing away all the colors of tomorrow
Over grown ivy blocking out the light of hope.
Where the fates push life on a mere barrow
And the faith of life hangs on a bare thread of rope.
A place where the grass is never greener,
Times where days are of a stand still.
The dreams of the young have become leaner,
Ground to fine dust in a mill, all have lost their will.
Life has come to a halt in time and place,
A period lost in its own faded grace.
