SPEECH OF THE JUDAE

Smile for me, dear brother, old friend!

For I am here, and with the leash of friendship
Shall pull you down; here, take this chalice to your lips,
Through the funnel of love you shall drink
Bull's blood, then into the pool of betrayal you shall sink,
And on wings of avarice I shall look down on you as you drown.
Understand, not for hate do I wear this mutinous crown,
With gain in unkempt riches I have sold,
All traces of ruth that I could hold.
For Midas touched my very heart and soul,
There is a price for which I can anull
All love, all hate, all ties to the dear I own.
I apologize, my friend, for what I have done,
Yet I would do it again if Hyperion back east dragged the sun.

So smile for me, one last time,
So I can remember you with that and not my crime.
