Mixed Emotions

I sit alone as thoughts go through my mind

Staring at stars as they shine in the night

Many of my feelings I try to bind

Trying not to let them show in this fight

I see the things happening around me

I hear the words that depart from your lips

And I wonder how you can let this be

As I see my life being torn in strips

Those that I care about I have not seen

And I try to fight the mixed emotions

While I am try to stand instead of lean

Trying to think beyond these commotions

Alone, I wallow in my solitude

As I try to define my attitude
