It starts with just a spark
Then it ignites to a whole flame
Burning all by its self
With nothing to help it along
But this fire is drowning
Every day it sinks further and further down
It fights as hard as it can
But eventually it will drown
Some days the fire gets closer to the top
It can almost taste the air
Swimming as fast as it can
But something always brings it back down
The evil of this world always pushes it down
But the good helps it swim closer to the top
The fire always moving either way
It wishes for air hoping that
The world will understand how it thirsts for it
A little boy is standing in a corner
With a bigger child standing over him
He wishes for the bully to go away
But we all know that he won't
The little boy goes home that day
His mother looks at him she sees all his bruises
Knowing how her son has suffered
She looks at her own body and how purple it has become
The fire sinks a little lower
In a food kitchen in New York a woman is working
She sees the worst kind of people
Homeless and sad, some can't help their own situation
But her cheerful smile gives them hope
Hope of a new job, a new house, a new life
She doesn't even know of this great kindness she has preformed
She just likes to help out, and be her cheery self
The people she helps see her as an angel for such kindness
The fire swims higher and higher it can see the top
In a foreign country a suicide bomber kills 50 people
In a small town in Texas a girl is brutally raped
In Arizona a man killed his wife because he was drunk with rage
In a big school in Mississippi a girl is beaten up by four other girls
In a dance school in Russia a girl is forced to go on a diet, she is
anorexic
In Wisconsin a boy is pressured to smoke pot with some friends
In a small trailer park a husband and wife are fighting while their 2
children watch
In this world there are so many good things
But lately the bad are over powering the good
The fire is slowly sinking to the bottom
Never to see the surface again
Never to burn bright the way it should
It can feel the bottom it is just a small light
It can feel itself begin to diminish
Smaller and smaller it finally goes out
That fire was our hope for this world
If we put it out there will be nothing left
Only sin and terrible things
The fire didn't start out drowning
But as our sins became more
It fell into a pool of blood
The blood that we have shed
It tries to get out
Hope and faith is our savior
As long as we have them the fire will continue to fight
So think before you do something wrong
Thing before you speak
Think before you act
Would you dare put that fire out?
