When you look at me, what do you see?
A person, with thoughts and emotions
Or an object, owned by thee.
I believe, the latter, holds truth
So I try to escape your torturous ways
But, I cannot leave
And when I am caught, he will show me how he pays
And I am left, longing for death
I look for help to the distant horizon
But I know that it is but only a marriage
Help comes seldom when under a horrid tyrant
So I must suffer, and waste away my soul
Perhaps one day I will be free
But until then, I envy thee.
