Her parents didn't care when she ran away

Her teachers didn't notice when she never showed that day

The man didn't care when she said she didn't want to

The man didn't care when she said she was through

Nobody cared when she spent all night crying

Nobody cared when she lay dying

Nobody cared about one less waif upon the street

Nobody cared that she didn't even have shoes upon her feet*

All they ever saw was another dirty little out cast

Who never had a future, only a shameful past

Nobody cared about the little child who mourned her

And when she arrived in heaven, only his tears adorned her

And for them at least, it was enough-

*that's actually a cheep rhyme, i need a new line for that one
