Tell Me Why
By Jessica Kurtz
The snowflakes fall softly down to the ground;
I sit in the park and watch the gray skies.
I stand up now, not making any sound,
As I start to run and begin to cry.
I remember the times we used to laugh,
Playing on beaches and running through sand,
And now that you're gone I feel torn in half;
Things never turn out the way we had planned.
Friends straight to the end, always together;
You stayed by my side, through thick and through thin.
I wanted to be with you forever,
But problems have a way a sneaking in.
And now, above all, the question is why:
Why, please tell me why did you have to die?
