There once was a wise old man who lived alone in a house in a nice neighborhood full of children. Every day the kind old man would sit in a reclining chair on his front lawn and he would tell all kinds of stories to the children of the neighborhood. The children loved him and the children were sort of the only family the old man ever really had. But nothing really bothered him all that much because he was happy sitting out on the lawn every day and watching the grass grow, feeling the sun and hearing the laughter of children. He loved children, he used to have a small fortune but donated nearly all of it to charities devoted to helping children, but he would never tell anyone that.

One day the old man was driving down a road in the city, he had been out driving and had simply followed his intuition, looking for interesting roads. This chain of spontaneity led him to the nearby city where he was now driving down a narrow road in a rather busy part.

Suddenly the old man felt his heart give out, he knew right away that it was the end of his long life. He stepped lightly on the break and pulled up the emergency handbrake. As he felt his old heart wearily slow he smiled back on his life, thinking how wonderful it all had been.

Three cars back Mr. Smith, who was the Assistant Vice President of a major software industry nearby jolted to a hault. He looked up with outrage at the old buick three cars ahead of his own that had stopped, scarcely believing that anyone would be so idiotic as to intentionally slow his way to work.

"Don't you ever think about anyone else you jerk?" Mr. Smith screamed out his window, honking his horn with annoyance.

It's all about perspective
