Numb
By Litt
Dec 20, 03

The river bleeds water
Washing over you in chilling waves.
The crisp air bites at your lungs,
Howling for someone to blame.
The earth rocks in tremors,
You take no notice, no cares.
They could've stabbed you, they have
Blood mixing with your tears.
The sun beams down on you,
Its harsh new heat;
Something in you is gone,
Drumming an endangered beat.
And all this has happened,
You should ache with its drum,
But you don't feel it,
You've long gone numb.
