Venus 7, Chapter 1 - Discovery

Saya Tanaga, representative of Earth, sat in her respective chair in Venus 7's Solar System representation building known as the Solar Council. The other representatives from the other worlds sat down when she did.

Saya was a young woman at the age of 22 and was of Japanese ancestry. She had been personally appointed by the president of Earth to be the leading representative.

Venus 7 was a colony dedicated to every race in the Solar System. It was the meeting place for Earth, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune and Pluto. Each planet had control over each of their own Venus colony. Venus was chosen by the races to be their meeting place.

Saya spoke, "I am sorry for the short meeting notice ladies and gentlemen, but this news is urgent. The Plutonian intelligence has some interesting reports, Xziak?"

The blue fleshed alien stood, "Thank you Supreme Representative Tanaga," he looked at everyone else, " my government's intelligence has detected several unknown ships just above Pluto's atmosphere. These ships are not of any recognition to my people. I expect that they do not come familiar to your people as well," Xziak pressed a button on the monitor before the council and a schematic of an unusual spacecraft appeared in front of the representatives.

Everyone shook their heads in agreement, that they did not recognize the craft shown on the monitor.

"Perhaps a new species?" suggested the Jupiter representative.

"Have they shown any signs of hostility?" Saya asked.

"No, not to my knowledge," Xziak replied, "their ships are of the greatest technology I have ever seen."

"What type of technology do they use?" asked the Mercury representative.

"Organic, their ships have the capability to perform self repair," Xziak pointed out.

"Perhaps your people should make contact with those ships," Saya suggested, "see what they want."

Xziak frowned, "we already have. There was no response. I do not like them just flying around within our planet's atmosphere."

The Neptunian stood, "perhaps we have our forces attempt a communications establishment? That may put pressure on them to return the hails."

"Perhaps, and if they refuse?"

"We try to hack into their comm signals."

"Does not sound safe."

"Do you want them forever to taunt your world?"

The Plutonian sighed, "no."

The Neptunian looked at the rest of the council, "this matter is concluded, I will send word to my government to send a small task force. I shall call a meeting on what progress has been made."

Everyone walked out except the Neptunian, Xziak and Saya.

Xziak stared at the diagram of the unknown ship.

"We'll find out what's going on," the Neptunian promised.

"Je'graa, when you send your forces, tell them to be as kind as possible. Any misunderstanding has both our planets, and soon the system, at stake."

"No worries Xziak."

Saya spoke, "Supreme Representative Je'graa, would you like Terran back up?"

The Neptunian gave a faint smile, "no, we can handle this. These guys probably just want help or something. Nothing we cannot handle."

"No matter what, we must ramain cautious. Their system are far more andvanced than you Plutonians and you people have the greatest technology among all the races in the Solar System," Saya stated.

Je'graa looked at Xziak. He was just as worried as his Plutonian ally but did not show it. The Neptunians are less advanced than Pluto but are second most advanced in the Solar System. Earth came third, then Jupiter, next was Saturn, and the most primative was Mercury. Despite the lack of technology, the Mercurians were always brave warriors. "I'll ask my government to dispatch a wing immediately."

"Thank you," thanked Xziak.
