Geometric Means of Life
(A/N: thanks are in order for my geometry book for providing the lovely
definitions, OK Go for the line 'the center can double the speed of the
crust' and the lovely Jaxie for beta-ing it. much applause for them!)

A circle is the set of all
points in a plane that
are equidistant from a
given point called the
center.

which can upset everything
haven't you heard?
the center can double the speed of the crust

All points on the interior of the
circle are called interior points.
All points not enclosed in the circle
are called exterior points.

so are you in or are you out?
or you on the rim sorta
ON the circle?

The distance from the center to
a point on the circle is a
radius.
The distance across the circle,
through its center is a diameter
A chord is a segment whose
endpoints are points on the
circle.

it's really pleasant
this unorganized discord and confusion
not connected to anything but it
reaches everything

A secant is a line that intersects
a circle in two points.
A tangent is a line in the plane
of a circle that intersects in exactly
one point.

is this your point or
mine? I must admit
in all the confusion of the line I
lost track

Coplanar circles that intersect in
one point are called tangent circles.
A line or segment that is tangent
to two coplanar circles is called a
common tangent.

we should have a common tangent every
single one of us should be connected to the other
forming coplanar circles

If the measure of a central circle
APB is less than 180, then
A and B and the points of
circle P in the interior of
APB form a minor arc of the
circle.
The points A and B and the
points of circle P in the
exterior of APB form a major
arc of the circle.

a nicer way of saying
you curve away from the norm when you
connect with those who are
outside the circle
you curve away from the cool
and for it you suffer

The measure of an arc formed
by two adjacent arcs is the
sum of the measures of the
two arcs.

it's the deception that is
measured time after time
but generally it falls an
inch short of meaning
and it makes all the difference
