Remembrance of Purpose
Author:
Matthew James Current PM
Tried to make it as open to interpretation as possible so that more people could relate to it. Although, this is what I would call a "me" poem, it is to help you, the reader, understand who I am. Review as you see fit.

I shall serve and I shall follow,
I shall kneel and my pride swallow,
Upon bended knee and humble soul,
I will rest upon the coals,
Of this world and all it holds,
I will rise up for you and break the molds,
That hold us down and keep up back,
I will the rod of conformity crack,
Upon my will and upon my heart,
I will take up this art,
And form words to touch my fellow man,
I will the gap between us span,
Moving up towards what is meant to be,
I will hold you close to me.
