Palisade by Ryan Schiff
Those times, they felt so light.
Light hearted and light minded, weighed down by boredom’s
blight.
Now, down a longer road I tote
My load, a living body, flesh and blood.
This body, I do now embrace.
It’s mine, my living palisade.
A citadel of what I’ve made,
Full of fading timeless thoughts.
All wrought in fires in my mind.
All devoured by times creeping moss.
