I don't know why I keep doing this,
I thought I'd be better by now.
In You I'm a new creation,
But some days I don't feel worthy to bow
Before Your awesome power.
Some days I feel spotless and clean,
And other like an old rag.
It's so tempting to let guilt eat away,
To keep bothering the healing scab.
But You tell me not to fall for that trick.
Our enemy is like a roaring lion,
Always in wait or on the prowl;
And guilt is a piercing weapon he uses,
To make us feel so unworthy we throw in the towel,
But Elohim calls us back to truth!
It was out of love He sent His Son,
The spotless lamb, to be our saviour.
In one moment, the Son of Man took upon
Himself the sins of humanity and so much more,
Giving us the greatest gift of all.
Forgiveness is now guaranteed,
Grace is promised to be given freely;
The only condition is to come to the Son,
And ask for it; it really is done that simply.
For He was sent not to condemn, but to save.
Crying, I unburden my heart at the base
Of a stake and two nail scarred feet.
He tells me my transgressions are as far away
As the east is from the west and never again to meet!
How unfailing and encompassing is his love!
For it was out of love that Elohim sent Him;
He loved us so much as to let His Son die,
Only do give us life by His resurrection!
In one day both sin and death were bound and tied,
Never again to hold power over those who believe.
So do not despair; even if you carry a
Burden so large its weight crushes and chokes.
You cannot pay a price that's already been paid.
Leave guilt for the love of the Messiah who spoke,
And promised to be with us, even unto the end of the age.
