Through my eyes a see this:
We have traveled theses roads,
Through rain,
The tears of the angels.
Through fires,
The hate that grew between us.
And still you stood at my side,
On the roughening roads.
When I fell,
Cut my hands and feet on the jagged stones,
You, friend, held out a hand,
That to bleed.
Our lifeblood flowed to a river,
Forming a boned that no mortal could brake.
You carried me to safety,
But there was no protection found,
As shadow past over us,
You were lost to me,
Those days where there was no don,
Where Night took the sun as pensioner,
I longed for them to end,
And they did,
On the horizon,
Stood a Knight to save me,
It was you,
Clad in silver armour,
That gleamed in the fires of the Sun.
Face in shadow,
Mud filled your eyes,
I called your name,
Embraced you as to never let go,
But you were unmoved,
Never hearing my cries,
Or feeling my arms about you,
I see now,
Your dirty jaded face,
Your wounded hands on the handle of a sword,
That hero I saw on the uneven roads,
You have done way with,
And so a friend was lost today,
One I thought,
would live to the unending of the world,
If not of body then in the hearts of the ones that loved them,
But you were right, when you told me on that dark day,
"Do way with childish dreams!"
And this is how you show me,
Then so be it!
I have closed my eyes never to see you again
if that is the fait you have chosen for me.
