Santa is not Real

The world flashes
Flashes from the bright and merry world of twinkling snow and evergreen
pines
To a world of utterly inconceivable blankness
There is no cheery fire roaring in the fireplace No brightly shimmering presents contained beneath the boughs of the tree
There is only pure black
A darkness that emanates from the core of the universe
Sucking the joy from my very soul
Suddenly, there seems no point to go on
There is no excitement to live for this holiday
As there was just five minutes ago
Face grin at me, chuckling,
"Aw, cheer up, its still fun."
Yet, I can barely discern their voices
I am still floating in the land of eternal darkness
And it seems I may never return
