You may not be my prince
You may not have a crown
Maybe your smile is crooked
And your clothes worn down
But the summer sun reflects
Off of your unkempt hair
Your golden helmet
Or your crown is there
I can see my reflection
In your honest eyes
No visor there to cover
My dearest prize
I could cry happy tears
But my tears have run dry
We have lived for so long
Without any hope
And living tomorrow
Was beyond our scope
This must be the reason
We passed the test
And lived 'till today
For tomorrow we can rest
Since we lived through it all
Our fairytale battles and
The epic and romance
Of victories grand
The tears in your eyes
Reflect my sorrow
And the drums in the distance
Are echoes of tomorrow
I could cry happy tears
But my tears have run dry
I never believed in
Fairytale romance
Of lords and ladies
In life's perfect dance
Yes, I believe it now
But the dance is not the same
It's a different kingdom
Inherited in our name
You are my king,
And I your queen
Lady and lord
Fulfilling their dream
Peasants to others and
Vagabonds to some
But our love won the battle
So the battle is won
I could cry happy tears
But my tears have run dry
