Sunsets are beautiful, just because of their natural, colorful beauty. But, doesn't their beauty go deeper than that? Doesn't the beauty of a wonderful, splendid sunset go deeper into your soul than just the colors that make your jaw drop and your eyes twinkle? I believe so.
Sunsets seem to have a sort of mystical feel to them. A feeling of transition, of change. The dark of night overtaking the light of the day. Not in some cliche good guy versus bad guy type of way, but in a sort of loving, mutual way. As if the light of day and the dark of night respect each other, tremendously. If you just look at a sunset, actually look at it, and take it all in, then you'll know what I'm talking about. There's just an amazing aura that surrounds a sunset, and which is emitted everywhere, and seeps into the hearts of all the beholders. Truly amazing.
As a friend of mine put it, "Sunrises are all in pastels. But, sunsets, they have the real colors... the darker ones, so full of passion..." In my opinion, this is an excellent description of a sunset. Especially the word, "passion." Think about that word for a minute. Passion... it just sounds powerful, mystical, mysterious, and beautiful, all in one. That word just sounds like it represents something that you'd die for, that you'd lay your life on the line for. Like a long lost love, that you'd die to see once more. Like a sunset, so passionate and beautiful.
I realize that to many of you, this just seems like incoherent, pointless rambling. And, maybe it is. Maybe I've wasted my time by writing this, and you've wasted your time by reading it. But, then again, maybe I haven't, and maybe you haven't. All I can tell you, is that the next time you see a sunset, try and look at it as it truly is.. remarkable.
