For years I write of love of war
Of two lovers in a battle
Trying to find the middle ground
Trying their luck at no man's land

I paint my characters vividly
Give them grace and give them flaws
A lonely heroine of virgin white
Who never known man's arms
Never felt a searing kiss
Nor has she ever lost her heart

My hero I give mystery
A dark cynical soul left without hope
And a bittersweet mind
Given up on finding the true vows
Given up on love itself

Yet here I stand, trapped between pages
Of words written by my own hand
I wrote the ending
Yet now I'm lost, for there seems no hope
"Truth is stranger than fiction"
Such a true statement

O pen, help me find a way to banish this insanity
Help me write a happy ending
Where all is resolved, help me tie up
All these loose ends into one knot

Maybe some day when I'm a better writer
I shall write and rewrite and sort out my life
But meanwhile my battles are raging
So I must go and fight.
