You Can’t Be Too Thin

I’m standing in a grocery store
Staring at the magazines
Headlines telling me
About the death of another teen
Seems she though she was too fat
So she starved herself day and night
But when the doctors finally got through to her
She couldn’t put up anymore fight

You can’t be too thin
That’s what they say
Which is why every girls on a diet these days
You’re ninety two pounds and fading away
When are you going to be done, losing weight

I walk down the aisles looking side to side
Chocolate bars and another diet fad
Am I the only one
Who thinks this world’s gone mad?
Lets get this candy off the streets
It’s just another drug
They tell you to eat but then starve yourself
Until another grave is dug

You can’t be too thin
That’s what they say
Which is why every girls on a diet these days
You’re eighty six pounds and fading away
When are you going to be done, losing weight

They tell you what to eat
They tell you what to wear
They tell you what they want you to know
But don’t tell you the truth, cuz they don’t care
They tell you who to idolize
But all they’re telling you is lies

You can’t be too thin
That’s what they tell you
But why can only they get through to you
You’re eighty one pounds and your still fading
When are you going to stop hating, yourself

You can’t be too thin
That’s what they say
Which is why every girl’s on a diet these days
You’re seventy five pounds and much too light
But you’re still losing, yes you’re still losing, you’ve just lost you’re life

You can’t be too thin
You can’t be too light
So why aren’t you here to tell them they’re right?
