A black cat crosses paths,
And there’s only fear of
Fleas and liability suits.
The common things are no longer
The cause of intense worry:
Let’s care about the stock market
And imaginary numbers.

That black dress looks nice on you
But it would look much better on me.
No one can wear the same clothes
On the very same day, and yet
We all strangely follow the same fads
And buy the same brands.

If the Bible is not truly God’s word,
Why are men telling us what to do,
With that Book as their instructions?
And if we are to believe in theodicy,
Why are the religious the first to lose faith?

I’d rather watch TV than plant a tree,
A lost ozone layer will kill us anyway.
Global warming makes for
Quite a nice tan to show off myself.
What trend should I pick up today:
Suicide or bisexuality?
A wannabe of who should I be today?
And whose name will soon be on my underwear?

Sex is turning all the rage,
And everyone’s getting in on it.

God won’t tell me my future and present,
Ms. Cleo gives clearer answers.

Why should I settle for 84 pounds
When I can still drop to 63?

A red rose blooms on an ocean shore.
The sight remains unseen,
But is felt by the lone traveler.
The distant sun brings it life,
And the rose is content.
