It turned out that Rachel did not need to slip away from her company to get away from the war in Japan because the war there ended before they got there. Marty invited her to live with him but she refused. Instead she moved to North Carolina. She lived there for around 3 years, being reclusive and living by herself. Then she decided to travel. She found Marty again and the two started a lasting relationship. She also met with Ian and David again. After five years of living in California with Marty, Marty finally asked Rachel to marry him. She was 27 years old, and he was 32. They had two children, Grant and Anastasia. Marty became a doctor. Rachel refused to just stay at home with her children like most house wives. She became a journalist and a translator. It took them 10 years of marriage to finally go to France and work out that bet they'd made almost 20 years before. Of course, Rachel won. She became fluent in over 15 languages. Their children Grant and Anastasia were brought up in a very diverse home.
Marty died before Rachel. He was 85 years old. Rachel died at the age of 102. 22 years after Marty's death. She had 4 great great grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 6 grandchildren when she died. She ended up with 15 great great grandchildren after she died however.
Author's Note- I'm pretty sure I've already done this. Ah well, no reason to not do it again!
Replies to Comments:
Kysi- Thank you for the review. Also thank you for 'mama' and 'tata' I think in the story actually the little children may have called their parents mama and tata, but Rachel is too old to do so. Thank you again!
Sweetke16- Thank you very much for reading and reviewing, I hope you liked it.
Kezya- Thank you for the help on the Polish, and no, I didn't do it word for word with a dictionary. I used one of those online dictionaries, and as you can tell some of the translations weren't so great. I think I followed most of your suggestions and went back and changed most of them. Thanks again for reading and reviewing.
Lady Meriadoc- I KNOW that I already gave a very long reply (the reply was longer than the chapter) to you, so I won't go into details. Thank you very much for reading and reviewing!
an_cat_gaelige- Thank you for your review.I know that some of the French is wrong. I'm pretty sure I mentioned before that I don't speak French, and get most of my translations from a French-English dictionary I have at home, or online. Plus---Rachel is just learning French! Why would she speak and write it perfectly if she is just learning? Thanks for the review.
