December 25th is widely known as Christmas for most, and the day of utter peace and harmony, when no blood was shed, and miracles happened. That was the day a princess from a kingdom in Greece, called "Verpol" was born to King Endlor Taslem, and Queen Siona Taslem. One would tend to think a child born on this holy day would tend to be a bit more passive than she was, but Princess Akala Styaldir Taslem defied this thought, and proved them all wrong. As a baby, the villagers thought she was precious, and nearly worshiped the ground she walked on, as well as loved her dearly. She had been so innocent to evil, as all children were, and very affectionate, along with happy all the time. Little did everyone realize, all this was due to change; and very quickly.

The worry-free and happy-go-lucky Akala that everybody knew and loved died at the border of Snitsam during "The Day of Flames", as it was commonly called. The four neighboring kingdoms plotted against Snitsam to gain land, which had been theirs to begin with, and with this in mind, they gathered an army and set the kingdom ablaze. Being that of 6 years old, Akala did not understand how someone could do such a terrible thing, and to such innocent people. As she stood at the border, she realized how cruel and heartless people could be, thus receiving her first dose of evil among humans. It wasn't but a few minutes after standing at the border, she heard a little girl yell "Princess Akala! Princess Akala! Watch out, the building is going to collapse!"

Akala looked at her, looked at the building, and quickly moved; but just in time to be caught by a single smoldering board, which resulted in a permanent scar on her right elbow. As always, she didn't cry; she never had, she always felt it was a sign of weakness and vulnerability. After she learned the girl was named Cristal, they went back to her house to clean up, and to have their wounds bandaged. It never occurred to either girl the other was of a different class; neither one seen rank nor slaves. They were all human, thus all equal to them.

When Akala's mother finally found her, she was understandably upset, but thankful Akala was unharmed for the most part. Her father was also told of what happened, and he was more than enraged. Though it was his fault she got hurt because he allowed her to be there, he punished her by beating her senseless, of course without her mother there to witness the act. He made it quite clear she was absolutely not to speak a word, or make mere hint at what happened from that point on, or he would kill her; and to further prove his point, he held a dagger to her throat. It was that day she learned to hide all and every emotion she felt.

All her father cared about was his family looking good to the public, because if his family looked happy and healthy, that meant Endlor looked good, and looked like he was doing his job. It was the ritual beatings that initially instilled the hatred within Akala, along with her general attitude; the cruel one. Along with generally slipping into a deep and dark depression, which can be seen if one looks hard and deep enough, came everything with it, including an untrusting air about her. It wasn't long into the spring of her 12th birthday she ran into her brother, Naius whom was but two years her elder. He quickly took up picking on Cristal at the market, which upset Akala greatly.

When Akala tried to stop him, he smarted off with a rude comment, and managed to cut her throat slightly, turning the conflict into a physical confrontation. Akala, having received rather advanced lessons in the art of sword fighting for her age, took up a sword from the market stall adjacent to her, and quickly matched his skill level beyond what he expected. She managed to throw him off guard just enough which was his one fatal mistake, because Akala found just enough time to kill him, though truthfully it was an accident; she never really meant to harm him, just frighten him. Little did she realize she really killed him and he wasn't playing, until later that day, when her father got word of what happened.

Her mother always thought what her father said, which was 'she moved wrong, and was accidentally stabbed', which would have killed her, had it not been for her running to Cristal's house and being helped by her mother. Akala, from then on, continued the practice sword fighting, forever carrying with her Naius's murder. It was but a few days later when her mother confronted her with either exile or public humiliation, she chose exile; the worst of the two punishments, although her mother suggested going with the simple public humiliation. Her friend Cristal insisted she go with Akala, though Akala wished her to stay since she didn't do anything wrong. It wasn't very long after the departure they ran into a young man named Romethius Julius Cerves just outside Verpol, and at the time, he was 15 years of age.

It was Romethius whom taught the two how to live, and took them both under his wing and cared for them. He learned Akala knew a bit of sword fighting, and decided to continue her lessons; thus she learned battle and skill, which she knew with all his help, she would never be able to repay him for what he was so kindly doing for them, and out of his own free will too. Romethius took Cristal and Akala back to his home in the woods, and to their surprise await an army; enemies of Romethius. Fighting took place, and resulted in Akala being severely injured and Cristal's death because the girls had been directly in the middle of all of it. It was then Akala should have learned to say good-bye, but didn't.

Instead she bottled up the pain, as she always had; and lord knows didn't cry. That was the one event that changed a lot with Akala. She became more introverted and angry, and much more hateful. The next few years was nothing short of a nightmare for Akala, as she was trying to get over Cristal's death, and become the warrior she was destined to become. Akala's hardcore training left many a scar, and many times Romethius and the rest of his army thought she wouldn't make it.

They were all wrong. For her birthday two years after Cristal's death, Romethius and his army presented Akala with a ship; one all her own. She was nothing short of ecstatic. It was then she knew what she would name the ship, and without thinking she called it 'Cristalline Darkness', after her friend Cristal. Not too long after being presented with the ship, Akala and Romethius ventured to an Amazonian land where Akala found her first real battle; and the bastard that killed Cristal.

The next few years after the battle, she dedicated herself to trying to wipe out the Amazon tribes. She eventually came to the realization she would never be able to rid the world of all of them, and gave up somewhat. She went through many smaller battles under the careful watch of Romethius and his army. At 17 years and on January 1st, Akala gave birth to Romethius's son, Xanthus Titan. Romethius named him Xanthus Titan after his own father, and since he knew he wouldn't be there for a while, gave him Akala's last name.

With a child to take care of, and Akala not being the best example in the world being as she was on the evil side and traveling, thought it best to leave the child under the care of Romethius's mother, Sion. Romethius went to Rome with Xanthus, and handed care of him over to his mother. While Romethius and Xanthus were in Rome, which was where Romethius was born, Akala took command of Romethius's now larger army, and proceeded to participate in many raids and battles killing a countless amount of people both peasants and royalty, thusly earning herself the title of the Conqueror. Honor and loyalty was something she'd never known, and this proved that fact, along with the alliances she'd made, and broken. Her trust had never been earned by anyone, and it was even harder to trust someone who would gladly stab you in the back repetedly, though seemed like one that wouldn't do such a thing.

It wasn't until Akala was around 28 or so years of age she finally got some sense knocked into her by a man named Augustus. They were very good friends, and one of the only alliances from the age 30 on back Akala had never betrayed. While her and Augustus were friends, Akala found herself wound up in yet another blossoming relationship with one named Axis, though at the time Akala loathed him with a passion. When he disappeared, Akala found she never went back to her beloved Tavern that she'd opened a few years before until Axis finally reappeared again, and promised her his eternal love, and would not be bound to another for the rest of eternity. It was shortly before Axis reappeared, Akala found she was madly in love with Augustus, though unfortunately did not know his feelings towards her.

It wasn't long after Axis's reappearence, Akala got word her son was dead due to disease. This shafted her into a deep and dark depression for a while. She found she could no longer deal with reality, and was about to give up as she had reached the end of her rope when she found a girl named Athaldet. At the time, Athaldet was 24 years of age, and Akala had bravely, and without fear, saved a bunch of people from Athaldet's village in Greece, along with Athaldet herself. The two became fast friends, and Akala thanks Athaldet for helping to pull Akala out of that depression somewhat, and find a real purpose.

With Athaldet, Akala found herself in the midst of King Arthur of Camelot's presence, and alerting him of a traitor within his realm; one of his own knights. This earned Akala the land under King Arthur called Castegard, and also earned her a new title, this being Lady Akala of Castegard. Now, she knew she had a purpose, and a title worth honor and loyalty, and this she couldn't disobey. True, though she'd been a real renegade, she held pride, and nothing more, but along with her new title and destiny, came a long and hard lesson in honor, faith, loyalty, and pride. The warrior didn't know it quite yet, but she was due to be changed from a heartless warrior that knew nothing but the low rank she'd held into one of nobility, as was her birthright, and one with honor, and this that came with knighthood.

A few days later, Akala ran into two people, a boy and a girl. Their names were, oddly enough, Xanthus and the girl's name was Arafel. The girl had gone through some horrid things that were put on her by her uncle and his drunken friends. Akala and Xanthus equally held a distaste, though Akala more so having been through a piece of it herself. It was later that day, after a grown man cowering at her feet and heading off to Romethius's camp, that they all realized Xanthus, her son, was not infact dead, but quite alive, and he was here infront of her.

Upon reaching Romethius's camp within the hour, located around the south-east part of Verpol, though on the very border, Akala requested Romethius's help in battle against those whom wanted Arafel dead. Xanthus protected Arafel, as the others fought bravely. In the end, Romethius fell, and along with his death came the rise of Akala's command, as was her right, yet once more. Out of a good 30 soldiers, there were but 8 of them left, including Akala, but discluding Xanthus and Arafel. Akala, upon Romethius's death, bowed down to her commander as he passed, much to everyone's surprise, and it was also that day they found out Akala was very capable of crying, though it obviously took an awful lot to acchieve it.

Romethius's last words were spoken as follows to Xanthus mainly: "My son, as surely as you are our son Xanthus, I knew I would have to leave you and your mother. I had to go fight. Against Caesar. I am Roman, you are half Roman. The woman you lived with, Sion, was my grandmother.

"I have no more family left except you and Akala. Take this sword as your own. It has been passed down to me from my father, and his father before that. Take it and know you are my son and your father died doing something noble, just as your mother is noble.

"And by the Gods Xanthus, don't work for Caesar. I love all of you." And with that last sentence he was gone, and they all knew it. It was extremely sorrowful and hard to deal with, but that was the way of war. War is heartless and sorrowful; people that you love and cherish die, and there's nothing you can do about it.

His body was burned, as well as the rest of the camp as they all stood by, watching; Akala, with her fist over her heart the entire time, her eyes dripping with tears. She knew this was how he wanted to die, doing something noble, and the men also knew this was how he wanted to go, and thusly, they were glad for him. A few days later when Akala, Xanthus and Arafel went to Camelot for a visit so Akala could show the two the legendary empire, they were greeted with a man called the ravenmaster, whom Arafel ended up killing. The ravenmaster was her first kill, and shortly after him Akala was greeted with a knight from Verpol named Lykaios whom she had learned escorted her father to the empire. The knight went back to whatever it was he was doing beforehand, and Endlor came out to 'greet' his daughter after 20 years.

A battle raged between Akala and her father, though Akala didn't want to battle him. Unfortunately, she had no choice, she knew her father would kill her if she didn't fight him. The battle ended up in Endlor's death, and Akala knowing Lykaios would probably go back and inform Akala's mother of what happened, and Akala would bottle all of it up once more, as she had all along. It wasn't very long, but maybe 7 months after her father's death, she met up with a stranger at one of the taverns in an area she did not know of. His name was Nikern.

The two set out on a journey to nowhere really, and Akala learned there was a bounty on her head for the murder of her father, King Endlor Taslem of Verpol. That day, she learned that not only was the stranger she was traveling with an assassin among many other things, but her half brother. The news nearly sent Akala into spasms, if it wern't for her distractful nature. Apparently, his story went along the lines of, her father apparently courted another woman while he was married to Akala's mother, and ended up producing a son with her. This son was named Nikern.

He left Nikern and his mother when Nikern was around 9 years of age, and took everything Nikern and his mother had, including their home, and told them he'd already had a daughter. This meant Akala had a brother, and Xanthus had an uncle, one that wasn't dead.
