I stand, alone on the highest cliff I could find,
Watching the day begin to dawn,
The Sun rising high in the sky,
Turning the darkest night into the bright morn.
A sad smile imprints itself across my face,
As my memories take me down that road again,
Reliving each moment I had you in my arms
My thoughts take me back to when...
When I saw your face for the very first time,
And lust just took its hold,
When I longed for your touch, for you to be mine,
And love to be like the stories of old.
You smiled your beautiful smile,
And my knees buckled, I fell to the floor,
You picked me up, smiled again,
And I found myself wanting so much more.
The days passed, and you held my hand,
And I was caught in the physical attraction,
I wanted nothing more than your lips to touch mine,
For you’d be the ultimate in satisfaction.
We laid there that night on the beach,
You held me close, I looked deep into your eyes,
And I saw past everything you hide behind, and saw you,
And I fell in love then, just as we watched the sun, rise.
We walked along the sand one last time,
And you smiled that smile again, looking at me,
You whispered “I love you” and I smiled too,
And we shared one kiss, the best kiss that could ever be.
But then there was goodbye, and it was never gonna be easy,
The tears flowed faster than they ever have before...
And as I stand here alone and watch the same beautiful red Sun, rise,
The tears I cry tell me I still want you, now, even more.
