Window

I look to the window,
Pain and sorrow cut me through,
In the darkness I see nothing,
Except the absence of you.

I long for your eyes now,
So clear and liquid brown,
For so long, they always smiled,
And now do only frown.

Your eyes were a window,
I saw right through to your heart,
But now there is nothing,
So near we are far apart.

All I have left is the window,
Where pain and sorrow cut me through,
This simple window of glass, that I sit at,
But I know gone are you.
