Chapter 3:

Josh looked at posters of the black and white Ball. He remembered
hearing Holly mentioning something about it. ' Maybe She's going to be
there?' he wondered. 'Maybe she'll dance with me?' Josh shoved those
wishful thoughts aside.

Lately Holly had been hanging around Ethan Wood a lot. From what Josh
had seen they hadn't been separated at all. One night Josh saw Ethan
at Holly's house eating Dinner through Holly's Dinning room window.
Not that Josh liked to watch her eating dinner or anything.

This bothered Josh. This bothered him a lot. Suddenly he was a man on
a mission. He was determined to find out whether or not Holly and
Ethan were going out.

" Aww . . . look at the lovers." Josh cooed as he came upon Holly and
Ethan.

Holly sighed. She didn't really enjoy these meetings with Josh. Not
that she enjoyed them before or anything, who would enjoy having their
neighbour making fun of them? Nowadays when she and Josh had these
'meetings' in the school halls it became weird. Josh wouldn't just try
to make fun of Holly like usual but he would aim his jokes at both
Holly and Ethan. Sadly, Ethan unlike Holly couldn't keep a straight
face and ignore it. Ethan always had a comeback for Josh. And for some
reason, which was, unknown to Holly Ethan would always hang all over
her and whisper in her ear. Little did Holly know it was to annoy
Josh.

" Aww look t the highly unachievable." Ethan said to Josh.

Josh gave an indignant look. " So when's the wedding? I just can't
wait to hear when you become Miss Holly Wood." Josh's friends all
laughed.

Holy had never thought about marrying Ethan, for most the thought of
marrying Ethan Wood was just so ludicrous in her mind it screamed '
Definitely not!' Not that she didn't want to marry Ethan. He wouldn't
want to marry her.

Ethan was pretty much the perfect guy. He was indeed tall had dark
hair and was handsome. He had the kind of eyes that make you gaze into
them longingly forever. He was just as smart as Holly was and
everything. He was a sharp dresser. He was the kind of guy who took a
shower every morning. To top everything else off, he had an English
accent. He was cultured he was -forget was- Is the perfect guy.

" Well have you known there is no wedding? But we are going to the
Black and White ball together." Ethan said aiming his winning smile at
Josh.

" How cute." Josh said walking off with his friends.

"You really want to go to the B&W Ball with me Ethan?" Holly asked
when they were a couple meters away from Josh.

" Of course I want to." Ethan said putting a reassuring hand on
Holly's shoulder.

" I would have thought you would want to take someone else with you.
Not me." Holly admitted.

" You're the only woman -next to mum and grand mum- I want in my life,
Holly."

" I'm flattered." Holly smiled.

" You should be. You are very lucky." Ethan tapped Holly's nose and
she giggled.

Meanwhile Josh had been taking his anger out on Mark . . .again. " WHY
DID HE HAVE TO COME BACK? WHY COULDN'T HE HAVE STAYED IN SCOTLAND?"
yelled Josh.

" He came back from England." Mark said dodging a deathly glare from
Josh. " Why is it that you hate him so?"

" Because he has Holly and I don't! I don't believe I ever will. He's
so close to having what I want. Do you think they have kissed yet?"
Josh said pacing around.

"Who knows?" Mark said with his hands up protecting himself from
Josh's assault if any ever came.

Suddenly Josh cooled down. It looked as if nothing had ever happened.
" Today is Tuesday correct?"

Mark nodded.

" Good, good." Josh said. ' Now I can have Holly all to myself with
out Ethan knowing. Even if were just talking.' " I've got to go, see
ya later man."

" Did you know that I was adopted?" Holly said to Josh. She was
sitting next to him while they were in the shed.

" You were? You look so much like your parents." Josh said with great
interest.

" That's because they are my aunt and uncle. My real parents went to
jail. They were really bad people. This is why I am always good at
everything. Why I am always so happy. Because it's for my aunt and
uncle. I don't want to disappoint them. I want to be the perfect
daughter. I want to be like their daughter Rachel. She's so perfect
and everything."

" Wow, I never knew."

"Yeah it's not something I hand around like a party invite." She laid
her head on Josh shoulder. " They fight because they are scared of me.
They fight because they are scared I am going to be like my parents."

Josh looked at Holly. She looked at him properly for the firs time as
well. Suddenly they were kissing and couldn't keep their hands off of
each other. They went at it until Holly's watch beeped nine pm.

Josh and Holly left the Shed in silence. Holly had been wondering what
had just happened while Josh was jumping for joy. He had kissed Holly
Matheson. His forever crush. Josh's only problem now was Ethan.
