I am a creature of the murky deep,
Watching,
As you toss and turn in your sleep.
As I hide in the cloudy water,
Admiring,
The light steps you take as if gravity was a laughing matter.
My cold and clammy hands,
Longing,
To graze the supple skin of your foot as you dance upon the golden sands.
I crouch in the shadows,
Awestruck,
By the unearthly beings graceful movements.
I push and poke,
Despondently,
At the brick wall that does divide.
I wield in my hands,
Surprisingly,
The power to make you acknowledge my darkest of dark secrets.
That could bind us together,
Uncomfortably,
Always and forever.
But I lock away,
Dejectedly,
This weapon of mine that I will never use in anyway.
For I care for you,
Powerfully,
So much so that I would suffer in silence so you may carry on as you always
do.
And I will slink back to the black realm,
Sadly,
With only a memory of your bright sun that warmed me for a heartbeat in my
cold stream.
A/N Written in a morbid, despondent mood.
