A note to everyone who may read my poems: They are all based on true experiences and happenings in my life. I'm not much of a poetry writer but I enjoy writing down my thoughts and sadness. It helps to write them down. This poem is about my little cousins, Timothy (eight-years-old), Tanner (four-years-old), and Kendal (five-years-old). They look up to me so much and they always want me to play with them. They always want to be with me. I hate to admit it but I have often turned them away because I just didn't want to take the time to play with them or have anything to do with them. But then I realized that they are probably the best friends I have in my life. They love me when no one else does and I'm very blessed to have them in my life.

Some people have heroes

Some people have role models

Some people say that their favorite movie star is their hero

Some people say that their favorite singer is their hero

Some people say that the president is their hero

I have heroes in my life

I have heroes that I didn't even consider heroes

I have many heroes

You may be little and young

You may be happy and free

You may be annoying at times

You may drive me crazy

But despite all of that

Despite whatever your faults may be

Despite everything you are my heroes

You are heroes in my eyes

You are there for me when no one else is

You love me for who I am when no one else does

You bring happiness to my life

You live your life happily

You live your life without worry

You live your life without knowing the reality of it

You always have a positive answer to everything

You always care

You stick with me even when everyone else leaves me

You clasp my hand in your little hand

You make me feel wanted and special

You have been there through thick n' thin

You do not know that you are heroes

You do not realize what is really going on

You do not even know what pain I go through

You may not know but you are still there for me

In your eyes I am a special person

In your eyes I am superman

In your eyes I am a wonderful storyteller

In your eyes I am a hero

In my eyes, though, you are the heroes

In my eyes you are the heroes, not me

I am nothing

But you, you are the heroes

You are my heroes
