He took everything, and gave nothing... When all Persephone ever wanted was to be loved....
Persephone
Act 1, Scene 4, Hunter's Kiss
Here's a sad story about a deer and a man
A romantic scene from a lullaby.
In a clearing green, where his eyes met mine.
I was frozen motion. Oh! His bow was raised.
Then the fleeting notion-that my life he'd save.
But I saw it coming, flying through the air.
Feathered backside humming. Miss me, hit me where
Where it will only hurt me, not a mortal wound.
Leave me lying dirty, someone would find me soon.
I have never felt like this before.
Felt my body sinking to the grassy floor
I have never known a love like this.
Felt the flaming arrows of the Hunter's Kiss.
Persephone ran up the walk as fast as he could without falling, or dropping the basket. He practically threw himself through the massive doorway, but... He was too late. Twistedly ironic, warm orange firelight flickered across the marble tiles of the front hall from an open doorway. Lucien was in the parlor...
Quietly as he could manage, he set the the basket down, and took off his cloak, leaving them at a side table near the door. He closed his eyes, and took a deep breath, before entering the parlor. You're late. Came a cold voice from behind the back of an armchair.
Persephone was trembling softly as he walked to stand beside where Lucian sat. I... I know... I'm so sorry! I tried not to be, I really did, but... His beautiful violet eyes watered with tears.
Did you pick up what I asked you to? Lucian had yet to look at him. That was never a good sign... Persephone's pulse quickened. Lucien would be so angry with him..!
N-no, I'm so sorry! He cried, giving an uncontrollable sob. That's why I am late! Lucien took Persephone's wrist, and pulled him down to his knees, and leaned Persephone's head against his leg. I tried to go like you wanted me to... He sobbed. But, when I got there, there were these men, and-
So... Lucian interrupted him darkly, taking his chin in his hand, and tilting his face upwards You are late... And... You did not do the one simple thing I asked of you. Persephone opened his mouth to apologize ambiently, but Lucian cut him short, slapping him hard across the face. How dare you defy me! He slapped Persephone once more, only this time with the back of his hand, the ring he wore of the DeNoir crest slashing across Persephone's cheek. And how dare you try to make excuses!
I'm so sorry!!! I'm so, so sorry!! Please forgive me, I'm so sorry! Please... Persephone cried, now sobbing irrepressibly. He clung to Lucian's leg, gasping slightly as the tracks of his tears met the bleeding gash on his face, the salty liquid stinging his wound.
Lucian leaned down and licked Persephone's open wound. That was the best kind, to him... Fresh blood, mixed with fresh tears, and blind fear. You know, He said softly in Persephone's ear, his words still icy cold. This cannot go unpunished.
Persephone only closed his eyes, and nodded vigorously, taking small gasps of breath to subdue his sobbing. Lucian ran his finger's across Persephone's face, now sticky with blood and tears. What should I do with you...
He leaned forwards, in a swift, fluid motion, and captured Persephone's lips in his, forcing his tongue into Persephone's mouth. Persephone opened his tear filled eyes slowly, and then closed them again as he gave a small moan, though he felt sick, tasting his own blood on Lucien's lips. Lucian's tongue was forceful, and domineering, leaving nothing to Persephone but to be kissed. He had no power... No control... No nothing...
Slowly, Lucien pulled away, pausing for a long moment, before striking Persephone once more. Who have you been with!? He asked, in a furious rage.
N-no one! I swear, o-only you!!!
Don't lie to me!!! He screamed, slapping Persephone again, though this time harder than any of the previous... Persephone fell to the plush, carpeted floor of the parlor, his tears welling up again. Who touched you?!
I-in the alley! Persephone cried, shaking pitifully on the floor. There were four men, and they-
Enough! Lucian finally stood, towering over Persephone's weak, trembling form. How could you, after all that I've done for you, do such a thing? He asked vehemently, the level of his voice back to normal. After I've provided you with shelter, and clothing, warmth, food... A place to call home? How could you be so tempted to do such horrible things to me, yet still stay so beautiful?
I don't know, I'm so sorry, please forgive me... Persephone whispered pathetically. I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to... Please.
You know you must be punished.
Yes, I'm so sorry..!
Lucian leaned down, and grabbed a handful of Persephone's long, mahogany hair, wrenching his head up. You must stay pure... Repent. Beg me for forgiveness... Lucian began to half pull, half drag Persephone out of the room by his hair, the poor pale youth stumbling behind him.
I'm sorry, I'm sorry!!! Persephone screamed through tears, as Lucien dragged him up the stairs and into Persephone's overlarge bedroom. Please!! Please, forgive me! I am so sorry!!! L-lucien, you're hurting me! Please, I'm so sorry!
Sneering, Lucian threw Persephone against the headboard of the bed, invoking a scream from the pale form. You think you know what pain is!? He raged. You don't know the meaning of true pain! Like the pain I feel every time you betray me... He slapped Persephone once more, another gash slicing across his pale cheek. Undress.
Persephone only nodded and complied as hurriedly as he could, tears streaming down his face, not even daring to wipe the blood from his wound. His head had started spinning from Lucien's harsh, unforgiving blows, and he fumbled with his clothing, trembling and crying uncontrollably.
Loosing all patience, Lucian tore off what remained of Persephone's clothing, leaving the young man vulnerable and shaking. He wasted no time diving on Persephone's exposed neck, biting, though not yet piercing the skin.
Persephone gave a series of small gasps and shuddered slightly as he felt Lucien sucking at his neck, and the scrape of his teeth against this skin... His fangs... Catching Persephone off guard, Lucian suddenly wrapped one hand around Persephone's neck, and choked him against the bed.
How could you do something like this to me? He asked, darkly, though Persephone could no longer answer, just barely able to even breathe. You little whore, he spat, finally letting his hand up, leaving Persephone coughing and murmuring apologies. And since you like being one so much... That's what you'll be! A fucking whore!
His demeanor quickly changing to it's usual, icy coldness, he ran a hand across Persephone's cheek, smearing the blood with his thumb. And since you are a whore, I will take you like one... Persephone's violet eyes fluttered open, and by the time realization grasped him, Lucien had undressed, and was on top of him, his silken hair falling forwards onto him, an ominous, golden curtain.
N-no, please, don't... Persephone pleaded rather fruitlessly. Please, Lucian... It hurts..!
Lucian only smiled devilishly, pushing Persephone's legs open, and jamming two fingers in him, stretching him just enough to take him comfortably. Persephone turned his head to on side, his eyes closed tight, and his cheeks red with shame, and wet with tears. Biting back a scream, he knew he would surely bleed, which would only fuel Lucian to harm him further.
Lucian held him under his knees, pushing his legs apart even wider, and thrusted inwards mercilessly, and without warning. On the first, he buried himself in Persephone to the hilt, eliciting a loud sob from the pale youth beneath him. As large, round tears welled in Persephone's eyes, and ran down his cheeks, Lucian smirked, and began pumping into him, harder and faster.
You're a whore, Persephone, and you must be taught a lesson, or you'll never learn... Lucian chided, all the while ramming himself into Persephone's quivering form. Smiling devilishly, he ran a finger across Persephone's blood, and tear stained cheek, as Persephone screamed at a particularly violent assault. That's good, Lucian smiled coldly. That pain means you're learning, dearest Persephone... Show me your redemption!
I'm so sorry, I'm so, so sorry! Persephone cried, throwing his head back. Pain such as this never ceased to consume him, no matter how often Lucien inflicted it upon him. Please, Lucien, I- Ah!
The whole while the pale, golden-haired vampire continued to ram into Persephone's ill-prepared entrance, Persephone continued to call out pleas and apologies, but Lucien never seamed sated, no matter how much or how loud he screamed. Finally, when Lucien came within him, tainting his frail body with his seed, Persephone was allowed release as well.
Lucien pulled out of him quickly as they both came, far from satisfied. Persephone only whimpered softly, exhausted, as Lucien continued to hold his legs apart. He gave breathy gasps as Lucien dipped his golden head to lick away the mixture of still-warm blood and semen between his thighs. L-lucien..!
When Lucien's thirst was temporarily quenched, he let Persephone's pale ankles go, and then scooped his limp body up into his arms, carrying him into an adjacent room. When he stepped through the bathroom doorway, he placed Persephone into the large bathtub, and started the scalding water.
Persephone moaned softly, his pale skin reddening at the heat, though he was unable to move. As the liquid -tinted pink by his blood- began to rise around him, Lucien redressed himself, looking as clean and collected as he had when Persephone had first arrived back at the DeNoir mansion. Just before the water was about to rise above Persephone's nose, leaving him unable to breathe, Lucien grabbed him by the hair, and pulled him up.
He stopped the hot water, and rolled his sleeves up, pulling Persephone back towards him, and cradling his useless body in his arms from behind, careful not to get his clothes wet. You mustn't do such things, my lovely. Do you see what happens when you betray me? He asked, his voice strangely sorrowful. Do you see, now, what you bring upon yourself?
Persephone, hardly able to comprehend the meaning of his words, was only able to manage a meek yes, and while he was surrounded by scalding water, he still shivered at Lucien's icy cold touch. Why must you do these things to me? Don't I provide well enough for you? Lucien began to wash Persephone, running his fingers slowly through Persephone's long dark hair.
Strangely, Persephone began to relax under Lucien's touch. How could he convey to Lucien how sorry he was? How could he convey that he hadn't meant to, and that it was completely his fault..? What could he do to make it up to him..? I... I'm so sorry, Master Lucien...
Slowly, Lucien remove his hands, and after a moment, Persephone could not feel his touch at all... He gasped when he felt Lucian's hands around his neck, pushing him under the water, and holding him under. You think just because you are beautiful you can get away with anything! Lucien roared.
Persephone could barely hear any of Lucien's words through the water as he gripped Lucien's wrists, trying to pull himself free. Why do you insist on hurting me like you do? Do you enjoy my torment, Persephone! Do you?
He couldn't breathe. He closed his violet eyes tight, just knowing he would be crying if he wasn't surrounded by water. When Lucien let him up, he barely had time to take in air before Lucien sunk his teeth into his neck from behind. Ahh! Oh, God, Lucien...
When Lucien stroked his hair, and ran a hand down his chest, he instantly relaxed once more, tears streaming down his already wet face, as he knew he was weak. Mentally then, yes, but now... As Lucien drained him, fatigue washed over him, enveloping him completely.
Just as he thought he was about to loose all of his blood to Lucien's demanding, crimson kiss, Lucien pulled away, eliciting a small gasp from Persephone's pale lips. As the pink water began to drain from the bath, Lucien dropped Persephone, standing. Well, I hope you're happy, He said, in a soft anger.
Persephone, too dreary and weakened to open his eyes, only heard as Lucien walked towards the door, across the cold bathroom tile. You absolutely ruined a perfectly good silk shirt. And the last thing Persephone heard before falling unconscious in the bath was the sound of Lucien closing the door, and locking it behind him.
My life is not mine.
Like a dog or a wife.
He has taken his time.
He has taken my life.
I could see the steaming of his cloudy breath.
No, I was not dreaming. I was next to death.
As I lay there twitching, then my legs he tied.
There was nothing missing on the day I died.
I have never felt like this before.
Felt my body sinking to the grassy floor
I have never known a love like this.
Like the flaming arrows of the Hunter's Kiss.
