::Alone::
By Autumn Ivy Fields
Left alone out in the cold
In the dark of the night
Where horrid beasts and creatures untold
Wait to pounce outside the light
You've left me here all by myself
With so many unspoken fears
Not knowing what in the darkness dwells
Comforted only by tears
Outside my vision something growls
A monster of the night
Reaching out its giant jowls
I don't even put up a fight
I find myself giving up
Not even wanting to live
This life is nothing without you
Tonight my life I'll give
I stand up, reach out my fist
Pull the sword from my belt
Drag the blade across my wrist
This pain I've never felt
Across the dirt the blood seeps out
Pours from my open wrist
The pain is dizzying, there's no more doubt
I will not be missed
I curse your name, fall to my knees
Let the pain flow free
Let out my tears, then you're there
Standing right in front of me
You bend down, take my hand
I resist your touch
You kiss my cheek, I understand
Why you meant so much
You see my blood, you start to cry
You know it's far too late
You say you're sorry for your lies
"Farewell, love, it's been great."
