Hungry for my blood.

Flinching from their spit.

Around a wooden pole.

Feet are knotted together,
Lashed to the stake.

My stomach leaps,
The flame brought closer.

Fire dances in my eyes,
Reflecting only terror.

Smoke clogs my breath,
I release it, dead.
