When did they forget to write it?

When did we forget the words?

When did they forget to listen?

And when did we forget to be heard?

It’s always fading away now/

Away from what needs to be done

The words unspoken and the songs unheard

We find more trivial ways to use our words

And in the end, we’ll remember

And in the end, they’ll hear

But in the end is far too distant

When we need the words now and here.
