Mindless Chase

I feel you pull away
And it breaks my heart.
I run after you, but
I can't keep up.
I run around in circles
Lost in all my own ways!
I ask for directions,
But no one seems to know the way.
I break down and cry
All the tears I've hidden inside.
Finally I return to where
My long journey first began.
I find you there and realize,
It's I who ran away,
Chasing your backward reflection,
And not the truth that's you!
