Ever Sweet Distractions
By: Amorina Leigh Carlton
My love for you,
Overtakes my mind,
I am unable to think,
Of much more than you.
I do not desire to think,
Of much else, But life
Seems to try and
Force me to pay attention.
Your image haunts me,
In all the things I do,
But it is a friendly ghost,
One I welcome with great care.
My desire to feel your touch,
To see your sweet existence,
Causes me great distraction,
As I go and do what I must.
Usually all the ones I have
Loved before you now,
Did not cause such problems,
Does this make my love real?
Or does this prove it false.
Do you think of me so much,
Or do I sit in the back of
Your mind, just out of sight?
Perhaps I am selfish but I
Hope you have as much
Trouble paying attention
To the things all around you!
