Freedom
By: Amorina Leigh Carlton
The cruel world grasps the knife,
And plunges it deep into my soul, my life.
I stand here and watch you all,
Laugh as I start to run and fall.
The direction is so unclear,
Nothing consumes me but fear.
I forget which way to turn, I
Fall down. I feel as though I'm very high.
In the sky so far away.
I do not feel as though I can stay.
So forgive me when away I run,
I hope you do not fear the fun
Of the years you will see ahead,
Please do not lie in your bed,
And mourn the loss of me
Because, My Love, I've never felt so free.
