Boy, You Make Me Cry

I don’t know how many times I told you,

That I loved you from the bottom of my heart,

There were no words to describe how I felt for you,

The feelings I had right from the start.

You were everything I’d dreamt of and more,

An angel, and I wanted you to be mine,

And I loved you, so much more than words could say,

Guys like you I knew were incredibly hard to find.

I said, “I love you” one more time,

You smiled sadly, and looked directly at me,

My heart burned cold, my voice constricted,

As you told me we couldn’t be what I wanted us to be.

I drowned in the pain of my bleeding heart,

You told me I was living a lover’s lie,

And I fell to the floor; my life was broken in two,

And boy, you made me cry.

Endless tears fell from my eyes,

Boy, you ended my life that night,

You wrecked everything I thought I might have,

And everything I thought was right.

I’ll move on someday, but that could take a while,

I grew attached, I wanted you so much,

I craved your gentle kiss, your cute smile,

I wanted so much to feel the warmth of your touch.

But tonight I’ll cry until my eyes make no more tears,

Tonight I’ll go, I’ll say goodbye,

Tonight will be the last time you ever see me,

And I’ll leave you be, and let you fly.
