Underneath the citrus sky,

Slate clouds slowly engulf my mind.

Controlled thoughts wander back to you.

Dredging up the past,

Revealing each scar.

Lighting flashes in my eyes.

A sign of inclement weather ahead.

The probability of flooding, tremendous.

Caught up in memories of you,

Broken promises and unspoken truths.

And the thunder releases its cry,

Pain it can no longer hide.

Vibrates my surface, penetrates my core.

Scars harken to the call,

Hastily open their flesh jaws.

The slate clouds watching begin to cry.

Translucent streams flow into each crater,

Stinging with salt, inflicting more pain.

Leaving me to the mercy,

Of the rising rivers rage.

And the slate clouds watching continue to cry.

Washing your memory from my mind.

The overflow outlets, my eyes.
