I came so close to crossing your path
A matter of seconds at most
I approached the stairs to see you emerge
Like a coward, I drew back to the wall.

You were wearing a shirt
So monstrous I could cry
Oh, how well I would dress you
If only you were mine!

I watched, engrossed, as you then made your way
Then from the stairs towards your car
If I had any sense I would have run
And caught up with you and do what I want to do.

Instead I did play the fool again
Breaking my promise to myself
I should have done it, I know I should,
But I'm so afraid!

Afraid of them, afraid of you, afraid of my own heart
I don't want to have to face you
Now that you know I love my you but
What you don't know is that

I've loved you from the start.
