Make it Rain

When it rains, it
Puddles into giant lakes of murk
Splash in the puddles, why don't you
Slosh a few tears out of these eyes
Help me cry overdue tears out of these eyes
It's no big deal, I swear

Toss the umbrella
The rain feels good on parched cheeks
My eyes have been too long a desert
Make it rain on this desert, why don't you
Sting my eyes with salty water
It won't hurt a bit, I promise

Watercolor pools gather
My tears will paint the sky
Hand me a paintbrush, why don't you
So I can paint the mural of my heart
Every color a different feeling of my heart
It won't bleed through to the stars, I promise

I need this, now
Is the time for rain
Let it rinse me clean
My tears shall rinse me clean
Bring me a storm, why don't you
Make me cry, why don't you

It needs to come, I know
