And my life and my love is almost as worn
As the fire burning on the hearth and in my heart
It almost hurts how you move on so quickly
While I'm stuck behind the moving train
Go ahead and speed up, I'm not running after you
I want to, but I can't, but I won't
And my pride is ripped up, its in shred on the sidewalk of the city
I throw my head back and grasp my hair
After watching careless people step all over it
And when the night comes by and the people head home
I stay there and grab the pieces and hold them up
Useless now, they are, and I can't put it together again
No matter how hard I try, it can't be done
Shikata ga nai, it can't be helped
When the rain falls, I really don't care, and when the sun shines
I wish it would hide again
I hate watching you move on so quickly
When I am stuck behind
Scooping up my pride
And carrying it away in my arms, lovingly
Foolish
